While the crisp mornings certainly make early starts a strain, the delayed daybreak is a spectacle worth pursuing, the perfect kick-start to your day.

The beauty of Cape Town is its amalgamation of cultures, natural beauty, art, design, and gastronomic diversity. Here we explore a handful of the seemingly endless delights our beautiful city has to offer.

Getting up at 6am on your weekend morning may not be at the top of your to do list. Plan ahead, don your warmest jacket, and ride out your day in felicity after the invigorating winter air as spectacular scenes set your mood for the day. Lion’s Head is the perfect way to start your dawn patrol and offers 360 degree views over Cape Town, the Atlantic Ocean, and Camps Bay. Cloud cover usually lifts to gift a magnificent silver lining at the top.

Woodstock has adopted design and art  as one of its defining characteristics. WHATIFTHEWORLD, Stevenson Gallery, and the smac gallery are some of the more established galleries and definitely worth visiting. One of Africa’s rising contemporary artists, Pierre Carl Vermeulen, who features prominently at The Silo Hotel with his unique “Sweat Prints” is currently being showcased at the smac gallery. His first solo exhibition runs until 19 August 2017.

Weather permitting, make the most of your caffeine kick by hiring a bike from Up Cycles and take a leisurely cruise along the Seapoint promenade. Work up an appetite as you meander along the coast, absorbing the fresh sea air and vibrant surroundings.
